Jean has been the Country Director for WEConnect International in South Africa since August 2015, an organisation that identifies, registers, and certifies women-owned businesses and introduces them to global market opportunities www.weconnectinternational.org.

 

She is also the Founder & MD for Win Win Solutions (WWS) 4 Africa Consultancy. She is a member of the Advisory Council of Mining Dialogue 360 www.miningdialogues360.co.za.  She was a Non-Executive Director & Ex-Chairperson for Junior Achievement Africa https://ja-africa.org until June 2020; she was Chairperson from November 2016 to June 2019. During this time, she also had a seat on the Junior Achievement Worldwide Board.

 

In 2019 she became a member of Dazzle Angels, a female-focused Venture Capital Fund which is led and funded by experienced businesswomen.

 

Jean is one of few women to have reached the top in the African mining industry. As a communications and external affairs expert, she spent more than nine years in senior leadership in Rio Tinto, Barrick Gold and Placer Dome.  Through these portfolios she got to work in and travel to 20 African countries. Prior to this, she spent 12 years in middle to senior communications management in telecoms, and science and technology industries.

 

She is a professional speaker and trainer, and has focused on the development of entrepreneurs, and the coaching and mentoring professionals for over 12 years.
